READING, Pa., Dec. 14, 2011 - Penske Truck Rental announced it is supporting the Berks County Toys for Tots program this holiday season, ensuring that gifts reach deserving children from underprivileged homes in the greater Reading area.
Dot Basile, Berks County Toys for Tots Coordinator, stated: "We're so pleased that Penske Truck Rental has decided to help us deliver gifts this year. The yellow Penske trucks will collect donated toys from businesses and retail locations, and transport these items to a warehouse for sorting. Penske's assistance will also allow Toys for Tots to go shopping at area toy stores, using monetary donations collected during the year. Our goal is to get 20,000 toys delivered to smiling children."
The local Salvation Army will be the recipient of the Toys for Tots gifts, and they will select, screen and deliver these toys to area families.
"We're happy that we can support a deserving local cause like the Toys for Tots program," said Don Mikes, Penske Vice President of Rental.
